real estate - an ATTORNEY's overview
Buying and selling a home is not the simple transaction that it used to be. I have years of experience in assisting homeowners in acquiring property; selling it; and financing it. Through my conveyancing practice, I provide homeowners access to many of the major, “national” banks in the state, as well as local banks. I provide counsel to first time homebuyers; experienced investors; multi-unit owners seeking to take advantage of the latest boom by restructuring their property as condominiums; and, of course, owners of property looking to sell. A cautionary note: the bank’s lawyer is not “your” lawyer when buying a home. You need your own counsel to protect your own rights.
My services include:
- Representation of sellers, whether individual homeowners or developers, including clearing title problems, liens and easements;
- Assisting buyers in purchase of existing homes and new construction;
- Title examination and approval, including resolution of outstanding liens and easements;
- Representation of borrowers and banks in financing arrangements, whether first time or repeat buyers; current owners looking to finance; or purchasers of investment property;
- Drafting and review of offers to purchase and purchase and sale agreements;
- Condominium purchases, including review of condominium master deeds, declarations of trust, bylaws, and condominium budgets;
- Condominium conversions, including creation of new condominiums, drafting of condominium documents and necessary local permits and licenses.
